From starting sea trials to growing our global partnerships, it’s been a busy spring for the REGENT team! Here are some of the highlights.
Sea trials of the Viceroy seaglider prototype are underway!
We successfully tested float mode during our first sea trial in March.
We completed a “dangle test” to calibrate the sensors on the vessel.
And we tested the radio systems that power real-time communication aboard the seaglider.
Now the team is hard at work getting ready for foil-mode testing, with flight testing planned for later this summer.
UrbanLink Air Mobility has expanded its seaglider order to 47 Viceroys, an increase from the 27 announced last fall. The South Florida-based advanced air and maritime mobility company will operate seagliders in South Florida and Puerto Rico starting in 2027.
We successfully completed the first $4.75M phase of our contract with the U.S. Marine Corps and secured a $10M contract extension.
Following months of collaboration, we submitted our Design Basis Agreement to the U.S. Coast Guard in March, and we expect approval by mid-year, advancing our pathway to seaglider certification.
We also unveiled our seaglider crew training partners and program. The five-to-six-week program will be U.S. Coast Guard-approved and focus on simulation training at our headquarters in Rhode Island.
As we scale from a breakthrough prototype to full production, we’re building the team to make it happen. If you’re energized by working at the intersection of cutting-edge innovation, real-world impact, and hands-on engineering, you’ll be in the right place - and we’d be thrilled to have you on the team!
We’re looking forward to an exciting summer ahead. Flight is in sight!
