REGENT named one of WIRED's top 6 electric vehicles of 2026

December 11, 2025
REGENT's flagship Seaglider craft operates in three modes: floating on its hull; rising onto hydrofoils; and flying in ground effect, within one wingspan from the surface of the water at a cruise speed of 180 mph. It’s 100 percent electric, and can carry 1,600kg in cargo, along with 12 passengers and two crew for 160 nautical miles. And, because it is battery-powered, it apparently will be 30db quieter than a helicopter. Interestingly, these “vessels” are classified as boats, not aircraft, and therefore they are captained by certified mariners. Float-testing is complete, so Regent has now moved to foil mode, with tests due to take place through 2026, before finally launching for service in 2027. regentcraft.com
