Job Title

Electromechanical Engineer

REGENT is building the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers.  With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers within 5 years.

We are actively hiring passionate team members who can help us get our vehicle, the Seaglider, to market as quickly and safely as possible. We are backed by the world’s best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Palantir, Boom Supersonic, and more. We have nearly half a billion dollars in provisional orders from some of the industry’s largest operators, and are ready to hit the ground running.

Working at REGENT, you’ll be in a fast-paced environment with daily challenges to overcome and opportunities for growth. Your coworkers are passionate about building zero-emission, high-speed Seagliders that will revolutionize coastal transportation. Our small team works collaboratively and across disciplines to safely marry the latest technologies from aerospace and nautical engineering. REGENT offers competitive benefits including healthcare, dental, and vision plans as well as an employee equity incentive plan.

As an Electromechanical Engineer you will work to develop and test various components and systems that merge mechanical and electrical functionality for both subscale and full scale prototype seagliders. Candidates should be experienced in the entire prototype development cycle from concept design and analysis through fabrication, integration and test. Mechanical work may include tasks ranging from the design and setup of a propulsion test fixture to developing a linkage system for control surface actuation. Electrical work may include specification and testing of avionics components and instrumentation to harness design for a complex data bus. This role requires self-motivated individuals willing to embrace tasks for which they have a depth of experience as well as those that will require on the job training/education. You will work closely with various engineering disciplines and must have an understanding and appreciation for requirements management, verification and validation efforts and general interaction and functionality of other subsystems and their integration into the vehicle as a whole.

This role may evolve into a leadership role and progress to support future product development. Travel will be required.

  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink, Python or other programming tools for varying purposes ranging from data reduction to analysis/simulation
  • Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles including basic circuit design and signal processing.
  • Familiar with writing test plans and reports and conducting tests for mechanical and electrical components
  • Hands on experience and familiarity with shop tools and their proper use as well as best practices regarding the assembly of mechanical and electrical hardware
